What British Airways and TUI recommend for holidays booked in August or September

After weeks and weeks of confinement, few things seem more welcome right now than a relaxing vacation.

Unfortunately, it’s more than a little difficult to exercise when return travel will be a viable option again.

Currently, the government’s advice is not to travel if possible, and many countries around the world do not even allow British citizens to cross their borders.

Some airlines have been releasing tentative dates for when flights could resume, but these only cover the next two months, leaving the late-summer vacation shrouded in uncertainty.

The sister title of The Mirror My London spoke to British Airways and TUI about what is expected in terms of flights in the coming months.

British Airways urges customers to periodically check for updates related to their specific flight on the BA website.

If a flight has already been canceled or is scheduled between now and July 31, passengers can claim a coupon for the value of the reservation.

But what if a flight has not yet been canceled?

BA has a confidently book policy that is directed to passengers if they ask about their flight.

However, the website has no information on what is happening beyond July 31.

Part of the policy states that if a reservation was made between March 3 and May 31 with a departure date until December 31, 2020 travelers can change the reservation date.

However, if customers were more organized than this and booked earlier, this does not apply.

TUI offers a ‘travel promise’ to customers, allowing them additional flexibility in their bookings, but again this only relates to vacations before July 11.

When asked about vacationers approaching the deadline to pay the final balance of their vacation, a TUI UK spokesperson said: “We appreciate that clients feel apprehensive about paying their final balance. If clients do not continue With the payments, unfortunately the holidays will be canceled.

“We would like to assure customers that all of our vacation packages are protected by ATOL so that they can pay the balance with confidence.

“If the vacation needs to be canceled, a refund credit incentive or a cash refund option will be granted.”
