A new report hints that The Last of Us Part 2 was allegedly leaked by hackers who had infiltrated Naughty Dog’s private servers.
In a brief summary on Twitter, Jason Schreier of Bloomberg reported that after speaking to people “with direct knowledge” of the incident, a security vulnerability opened a back door on ND’s servers and hinted that spoilerific images likely originate from ” an early compilation. ”

Massive spoilers for The Last of Us 2 circulated online earlier this week in what Tom described as “a devastating leak” for developer Naughty Dog.
Video footage showing scenes and gameplay, including various key scenes, are available for viewing online. Although the original videos have been pulled from YouTube and Reddit by Sony, citing copyright concerns, other versions are still being linked elsewhere.
While a disgruntled Naughty Dog employee was initially thought to be behind the leaks, Sony recently confirmed that none of the individuals identified as responsible are affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment or Naughty Dog. His investigation is said to be ongoing.
Right after the leaks spread across social media, Sony told Eurogamer: “We are disappointed that someone posted unauthorized pre-launch footage of The Last of Us Part 2, disrupts years of Naughty Dog hard work, and ruins the experience for fans around the world. ” “
“We want everyone to have the opportunity to play The Last of Us Part 2 at the same time,” he continued, “and ask that you avoid viewing or sharing unauthorized material.”
Naughty Dog also released his own statement via Twitter, writing: “We know the past few days have been incredibly difficult for you. We feel the same way. It’s disappointing to see the pre-launch release and sharing of pre-launch images. Try your best to avoid spoilers and we ask you not to. ” Don’t spoil it for others.
“The Last of Us Part 2 will be in your hands soon,” concluded the developer, “No matter what you see and hear, the final experience will be worth it.”
Sony previously confirmed a revised release date of June 19 for The Last of Us Part 2 on PlayStation 4, following its delay “until further notice” last month.
