President Rick Parry has insisted that the EFL remain determined to end the season in an open letter to the 71 clubs.

All professional matches in England have been suspended since mid-March and talks continue about when or if the season will resume.

Both France and the Netherlands have canceled the remaining games in their top flight, but Parry insists that the EFL will not do the same and will maintain a constant dialogue with the government.

An open letter stated: “While there is still no further clarity on the return of EFL games, the goal remains to play the remaining games for the 2019-20 campaign on the current 71 EFL grounds.

“It is important that any club notify the EFL of any problems that can be avoided as soon as possible.”

“Some progress has been made with regard to planning how matches can be conducted, with draft operational plans presented to the board at this week’s meeting and incorporating many areas such as: stadium preparation, medical supplies, personnel, access to the means and, of course, necessary measures to guarantee the safety of all participants, including the players and the first-team personnel, the match officials and all others associated with the environment of the day. “

The Premier League is still in talks about the “project restart” with a June 8 date set aside for a possible return to action.

West Brom is currently second in the table, six clear points in the automatic promotion spots with just nine games remaining.

They are bidding to return to the top flight the second time they request it.
