Zara Tindall has given birth to a baby, her husband Mike Tindall has announced.
The former England rugby star broke the news on his podcast, The Good, The Bad and The Rugby.
A spokeswoman for the couple said: “Zara and Mike Tindall are happy to announce the birth of their third child, Lucas Philip Tindall.”
The baby, who is a new great-grandson to the Queen, was born on Sunday March 21 and weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz.
The Tindalls, who live on the Gatcombe royal estate in Gloucestershire, already have two children, Mia, seven, and Lena, two, and have been married since 2011.
The baby was born at home, Mike Tindall revealed on his podcast.
After talking about Saturday’s games, he said: “On Sunday it got even better because a baby came to my house.”
Tindall said their son was born on the bathroom floor after the couple couldn’t get to the hospital.
“I got there really fast. I didn’t get to the hospital. On the bathroom floor,” he said.
Tindall described how he hurried to find a rug for his wife.
“So yeah, it was running to the gym, getting a mat, going to the bathroom, putting the mat on the floor, putting down the towels, holding, reinforcing, holding.”
The baby was born at 6 p.m. Sunday, he said.
Lucas is the 10th great-grandson of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, but he is only 22nd in the line of succession to the throne.
Mike Tindall had joked about wanting a boy this time.
The baby’s birth comes just weeks after Zara’s cousin Princess Eugenia had her son August on February 9.
