Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have paid a moving tribute to their late grandmother with handwritten cards for Mother’s Day.

The young people wrote separate cards to ‘Grandmother Diana’ with moving messages for the princess who died in 1997 at the age of 36.

But clearly Prince William has made sure his grandchildren know who their grandmother was, and his three sons write cards to Diana every year.

Seven-year-old George used the joint writing on a bright green card to say, “Dear Grandma Diana, Happy, happy Mother’s Day.

“I love you very much and think of you always, sending a lot of love from George xxxxx”

Her five-year-old sister wrote her message on a fuchsia card with a multi-colored hand-drawn heart.

In an adorable message, the little princess made sure to mention how much Prince William misses his mom today.

Charlotte wrote: “Dear Grandma Diana, I am thinking of you on Mother’s Day.

“I love you very much. Dad misses you. Much love Charlotte xxxxxxxxx.”

Two-year-old Prince Louis also used the green card for his Mother’s Day card, which features a colorful heart surrounded by various animals; all have been pasted on the card.

The cards were revealed on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official Twitter account where four images were uploaded.

Two accompanying captions say: “This year Mother’s Day will be different once again.

“Many of us will be separated from our loved ones, but we look forward to a time in the not too distant future when we can hug our mother again.

“But for those who are grieving, today can be particularly challenging.

“Every year on Mother’s Day, George, Charlotte and Louis make cards remembering their grandmother, Diana, for William. Whatever your circumstances, this Mother’s Day we are thinking of you.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made their first public appearance since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sensationally made a series of accusations in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that was screened on Sunday.

They went to School21 in Stratford, East London, to commemorate the return of children to school and the launch to secondary schools of a pupil mental health project that Kate launched in primary schools in 2018.

Sweet letters from George, Charlotte and Louis arrive as the Queen led the nation’s Mother’s Day celebrations with a photo of the Queen Mother.

The Royal Family published a black and white photo of the late monarch with his arm around a young Queen Elizabeth, then a teenage princess, smiling happily at her mother.

The childhood photo was taken in April 1940, when the Queen was only 13 years old, at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, where the Queen Mother lived from 1952 until her death in 2002.

Prince Charles and Camilla did the same minutes later, posting a photo of Prince Charles and the queen at the Braemer Highland Games in 2010.

The tweet “wished you all a Happy Motherhood Sunday” and also included a photo of the Duchess of Cornwall at home with her own mother in 1990.

The posts drew a lot of support from real fans who took to Twitter to appreciate the “beautiful” images.
