Mark Drakeford isolates himself after coming into contact with someone who recently tested positive for coronavirus.
It is understood that the Prime Minister of Wales does not have any symptoms of Covid-19, but isolates himself as a “precaution”, according to the Government of Wales.
Drakeford continues to perform his duties and on Thursday he has been giving testimony before the Welsh Affairs Select Committee of MPs, something he has carried out remotely.
According to the Welsh government guidelines on self-isolation, people are advised to self-isolate for 10 days if they have been “identified as a contact with a positive case of coronavirus.”
The guide states that: “Self-isolation means that you don’t leave home. You should isolate yourself immediately if you have symptoms, are organizing a test, or are identified as a contact. “
CORONAVIRUS
This means that Mr. Drakeford will have to isolate himself for 10 days because he has been “identified by being in contact with someone who has coronavirus and could have infected it.”
The current seven-day coronavirus infection rate in Wales is 53.1, a rate that has been steadily declining since the national alert level 4 lockdown was implemented on December 20.
