This is what Solskjaer meant on the Chelsea website
The Man United boss’s actions will also come under scrutiny again Sunday after his penalty area tangled with Jamal Lascelles last weekend. In recent Chelsea games, the Red Devils center-back has survived VAR reviews of a possible penalty foul to César Azpilicueta and a violent challenge to Michy Batshuayi that may well have affected the result.

More by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
“Our defense, energy, application and pressure were absolutely spot on. With the ball, not good enough. We didn’t have enough quality. A clean sheet is always the basis, we have had charges against the upper sides but we have not found the goal and we have to fix that. “
18:54
[Should you have had a penalty?] “Yes, 100 percent. [Can you understand why it wasn’t given?] Not at all. From here it seemed that it could have been our player’s handball, but when you see it in the video it is clear and it has taken two points from us.
“I can not tell [what the referee said to the United players] because that’s not going to be good for him. [Is that not concerning to you?] Of course it is. [Luke Shaw said the referee told Harry Maguire he didn’t want to give it because there would be controversy]. Exactly. I didn’t say that and I don’t want to cause controversy, but it’s not cool, right?
“It’s all these outside influences… you know, even the pregame VAR talk about Harry. [What are you referring to Ole?] You can read it on the website. That’s cheeky, it’s really cheeky when they post it on the website. That is influencing the referees, pressuring them to penalize us ”.

Here is David Hytner’s party report. Goodnight!

Those were two weird interviews., as both Luke Shaw and Thomas Tuchel got the wrong side of the stick on the penalty appeal. Shaw did not understand that the VAR had advised Stuart Attwell to look at the monitor and that he had then stuck with his original decision; Tuchel although Greenwood handled it before Hudson-Odoi, which was not the case.

Here is Thomas Tuchel
“It was a high-quality match between two very strong teams. We suffered at times in the first half due to the quality of MacGyver, Maguire came in and we couldn’t close the 6th, but overall it was an even game. In the second half I felt that we were very strong: many high recoveries, good chances and half chances. Performance-wise, I am very satisfied. We defended very high, very brave, and I am very happy with that.
“[On United playing higher up the field than usual] We defended with two forwards in the second half to cover them, so they can’t enter with the ball … or do you mean without the ball? We weren’t good enough in the first half to attack space, we had too many easy turnovers. We lost a bit of confidence because of that, what can happen. We said it at halftime, don’t worry, and we changed the structure to 5-3-2 to have higher ball recoveries and put the pressure up to regain confidence. The boys did very well and we dominated the second half.
“[On the penalty appeal] How can this be an intervention? The player in red is driving it and we are checking a penalty ?! I mean, why does the referee have to see this? You look at it for a second on the iPad and you see it. The referee did everything right. I don’t understand why you need to check. “

“[What did you make of that game?] I really don’t know. A fairly even game, without too many opportunities. We were both quite safe; maybe they had a little more possession. We defended well, but we didn’t create much, so we’re a bit disappointed with that. We needed to win because the gap is widening.
“[On the penalty appeal] At that moment I saw a handball, but I didn’t know if it was Mason or Callum. I didn’t even know there was a VAR control. I heard the referee tell H [Harry Maguire], ‘If I say it is a pen, then there will be a lot of talk.’
“I don’t understand why they stopped him if it wasn’t going to be a pen. I’m not going to be sorry because I don’t think either team has done enough to win. “

Do you still want more? I bet so.

Manchester City now have a 12-point lead, so it is probably safe to cross those ‘I’s. United remain second, one point ahead of Leicester. Chelsea are fifth, one point behind West Ham in fourth place and six from United.
18:24
Victor Lindelof comes over to ask Stuart Attwell what the hell was he doing with that penalty appeal in the first half. But both groups of players seem happy with life, except for Bruno Fernandes, who seems completely fed up when he leaves the field. He didn’t have a great game, although he’s crying out for creative support. In general, a draw was a fair result.

Full time: Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd
Peep! There have been many worse 0-0s.

90 + 3 min A stinging upward impulse from Fred goes straight to Mendy, who rejects it unconvincingly.
18:21
90 + 3 min James’ free kick, headed by Maguire. Mount’s long-range volley is blocked and then Kovacic’s shot dribbles past De Gea.
18:21
90 + 2 min Another free kick to the right for Chelsea, this time 35 meters from goal. This will probably be the last chance.
18:19
90 min James’ free kick clears everyone and United breaks down. Fred makes a brilliant pass to McTominay down the right, and suddenly United are four on three. But McTominay’s low pass to Martial is off the mark, allowing Kante to make a vital interception. That was a great opportunity.

89 min Reece James is blocked by Shaw, giving Chelsea a free kick on the right wing …
18:15
87 min Martial takes Shaw’s pass cleanly on his stride at the edge of the box, forcing Christensen to stretch to make an important tackle.

85 min Chelsea seems to be the most likely winner at the moment. Werner, to the left of the area, takes a crisp shot from a tight angle that is comfortably saved by De Gea.
18:12
83 min: Great Lindelof Defense! Reece James, right, throws a wicked ball at the far post, where Lindelof only he gets in front of Werner to get the ball behind. The referee gives a goal kick, but it was definitely a good defense rather than a bad fault.

82 min Hit or twist, guys. At the moment it looks like the first.
18:09
80 min “Kovacic surely should have been booked for taking down James,” Martin Lancon says of an incident a couple of minutes ago.
I thought they both had the ball at the same time, although I haven’t seen a replay.
18:07
78 min Manchester United make their first change: Anthony Martial replaces Mason Greenwood, who had a couple of good moments but still looks like a shadow of the player he was last season.
18:06
77 min Chelsea makes their final change: Timo Werner replaces Hakim Ziyech, who vanished after a safe start.
18:05
76 min Dan James runs up to Rudiger and hammers an excellent low crossover that is shed by Mendy’s stretch. Happily for him, there are no United forwards on the scene and he grabs it on the second try.
18:03
75 min De Gea makes another comfortable save, this time from Azpilicueta’s distant shot.
18:02
73 min A lot of Chelsea possession in the last minutes. Finally, Kovacic fires a first-time shot from 25 yards that De Gea holds comfortably to his left.
17:59
70 min United have gone 0-0 in Big Six games this season: City and Chelsea at home, Liverpool and Arsenal away. I think they played quite well today, for what it’s worth, and they should have had a penalty. I’m not sure this ends 0-0 anyway.

68 min After some quick one-touch passes, Fred connects a curling iron with his right foot from 25 yards that swerves from the far top corner. That was a tremendous effort from a player whose long-range shots generally have a John Jensens smell to them.
17:54
66 min The 0-0 between these teams at Old Trafford was a disaster; this has been a much better game.
17:53
65 min A violent long-distance shot from McTominay is blocked by Rudiger’s fall.
17:53
63 min: Great defense from McTominay! Mendy makes a more comfortable stop on the Rashford curling iron. Chelsea breaks and McTominay makes a vital block from a close-range shot from Mount. It was a brilliant play from Mount, who played a one-two with Ziyech at the midline and ran into the area. Cruyff then turned to McTominay, who recovered admirably to block the shot that followed.
17:51
62 min Chilwell is booked for a late tackle on Greenwood, who has come to life in the final minutes.
17:51
61 min: Good save for Mendy! Wan-Bissaka, to the right of the box, cuts the ball to the unmarked McTominay. He fires a first shot that is blocked by the blind Mendy’s chest. He was a good unorthodox goalkeeper because he saw the ball so late.

60 min Greenwood plays a clean double off James, strays away from Christensen on the D and fires a fierce shot that flashes just off the near post. That was a great play.
17:48
59 min Kante’s long-range shot is blocked by Lindelof and United break three-on-three, but Fernandes’ pass to Rashford is slightly higher and is out of play. Fernandes is furious that James took Rudiger out without the ball; Stuart Attwell is not interested.
17:47
58 min Rudiger throws another excellent cross pass, this time to Reece James. Fred cuts his sharp cross. However, Chelsea are having an excellent run.
