Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed that 57 Scots have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
The Prime Minister announced that another 685 positive cases have been detected overnight, bringing the total to 194,954.
The Scottish death toll now stands at 6,885 since the start of the pandemic last March.
A total of 1,261 patients are being treated in hospital for the deadly virus and 95 in intensive care.
This week Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that schools will begin opening for younger children on February 22.
The phased comeback was confirmed for P1-3 in a blocking “compensation” in Scotland.
The country has endured a grueling seven weeks of lockdown since Christmas with nonessential stores closing, nearly all hospitality businesses closed, and a travel ban outside of local council areas.
Sturgeon said a broader lockdown will continue “possibly” through March.
Monday was the first day that international travelers arriving in Scotland must be quarantined for 10 days at designated hotels.
Passengers entering the country must reserve and pay £ 1,750 for managed isolation at one of six agreed hotels prior to arrival.
Staff will supply food and beverages during the 10 day period.
All arrivals are also required to take two coronavirus tests on days two and eight of their hotel stay.
