Or, as is more likely, a mediocre team always playing with varying degrees of mediocrity. But it probably won’t. “

Preamble
Mikel Arteta looks at Leeds and wonders if his Arsenal players could learn to run that much? Learned at the feet of Pep Guardiola, a disciple of Marcelo Bielsa, he is an admirer of the Argentine guru. He’s looking at it too, as Leeds are ahead of Arsenal on the table and have delighted neutrals, while Arsenal have been very inconsistent and are on one of their losing streaks. They have not won any of the three Premier League games they have played this month, while Leeds is coming off Monday’s summary dismissal of Crystal Palace, part of three wins in four. It seems likely there will be no Kalvin Phillips for Leeds as he has a calf problem, which would be a significant loss. Arsenal will look to Bukayo Saka, who at 19 has become such an important player to them. This is a mid-table battle, but it’s one to savor.
Kick-off is at 4.30pm UK time. Join me.
