  • Attend: Willian José (£ 7.0 million), Pedro Neto (£ 5.8 million) | Alexandre Lacazette (£ 8.4 million)
  • Red cards: David Luiz (£ 5.4 million), Bernd Leno (£ 5.0 million)

BERND OUT

The Wolves brought Arsenal’s impressive form streak to an ignominious end Tuesday night, though they had plenty of help.

The Gunners had two players sent off on the opening night of Gameweek 22, which only worsened a fast-emerging injury and a ban crisis before facing key Fantasy assets on offer at Aston Villa and Leeds.

Of course, those red cards also severely limited the Fantasy Premier League assets that remained on the field.

Owners of Bukayo Saka (£ 5.4m), currently at 9.8% of squads worldwide, will likely be the most disappointed considering his recent exploits, offering seven strike returns since Gameweek 15.

He came back from his week 21 absence from the Wolves and even put the ball in the back of the net.

However, an offside against Alexandre Lacazette (£ 8.4 million) in accumulation saw the goal disallowed.

And when referee Craig Pawson sent David Luiz (£ 5.4 million) and Bernd leno (£ 5.0m) packing both sides at halftime, Mikel Arteta’s substitutions left Saka isolated.

Center back Gabriel (£ 5.0m) came in for Lacazette in the interval while Alex Rúnarsson (£ 4.4 million) had to replace Thomas Partey (£ 4.9 million) in the 72nd minute.

NIC-ING SOMETHING

Silver liners may be hard to find for Arsenal fans after Tuesday’s loss, but Nicolas Pepe (£ 7.6 million) went out of his way to provide one.

Recovering the ball and scoring the opening goal in the 32nd minute, the winger scored his second goal in the last three games.

And, of particular interest, it means that Pépé has found the net in each of his last three Premier League games away from home.

However, it remains to be seen whether or not the winger will take his place on the team.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£ 11.3 million) made a highly anticipated comeback against Wolves and while he couldn’t have made much of an impact, his presence will be a huge boost for his colleagues ahead of games against Aston Villa and Leeds.

“He was, but he was gone for a couple of days due to the quarantine rules. He will be fine soon. “- Mikel Arteta

HOLDING ON

The owners of Arsenal’s defensive assets will expect the Wolves’ dire catalog of mistakes to be something of a bump.

This was the Gunners’ first loss in eight Premier League games, having won five and drawn two of their previous seven.

Notably, his defensive record going into Gameweek 22 was admirable.

Until Ruben neves (£ 5.1 million) and João Moutinho(£ 5.2m) goals on Tuesday night, Stuart armstrong (£ 5.5 million) was the only opposition player to score against Arsenal since Boxing Day.

And by conceding two goals in Molineux, Arsenal let in as many as they had in their previous seven Premier League games.

The concern for Arsenal’s defense going forward, of course, is the shortage they face, a situation that worsened at Gameweek 22.

They were already without Kieran tierney (£ 5.3 million) and Mat ryan (£ 4.2 million) before Leno and Luiz were added to the list of players who will miss Saturday’s trip to Aston Villa. Alex Rúnarsson (£ 4.4m) to kick off that Gameweek 23 match, perhaps boosting Fantasy’s credentials from Jack grealish (£ 7.7 million), Ollie watkins (6.3 million pounds sterling), Ross Barkley (£ 5.9 million) and the like.

“Mat (Ryan) had a muscle problem and has not been able to train in the last two days. Hopefully we can get it back in the next few days. “- Mikel Arteta

“(Kieran Tierney) was nowhere near (playing Tuesday). Hopefully in the next few days he will feel much better and can come to the team and help us at this time when we have so many games ”. – Mikel Arteta
