Amanda Gorman’s books are now Amazon’s best sellers

Gorman’s other upcoming title, Change Sings: A Children’s Anthem, is also now a best seller on Amazon.

Both books will be out on September 21, 2021 through Viking Books.

Many high-profile politicians and celebrities praised Gorman’s reading at the inauguration ceremony. Hillary Clinton joined the chorus and tweeted: “Wasn’t @ TheAmandaGorman’s poem just awesome? She promised to run for president in 2036 and I can’t wait. “

Gorman finished writing “The Hill We Climb” shortly after watching the January 6 insurrection by Trump supporters on Capitol Hill.

“In my poem, I’m not going to downplay what we’ve seen in recent weeks and, dare I say, in recent years,” he said.

But what I really aspire to do in the poem is to be able to use my words to imagine a way that our country can still come together and still heal. He is doing it in a way that is not erasing or neglecting the harsh truths that I believe America must come to terms with. “

She continued: “Now more than ever, America needs an inaugural poem. Poetry is often the touchstone we return to when we have to remind ourselves of the history we find ourselves in and the future we represent. “
