A major fire is breaking out in an apartment block in London when a witness describes a massive response from emergency services.
Around six fire trucks and 40 firefighters were dispatched to Hammersmith, where images show black smoke rising from a fifth floor.
Terrified eyewitnesses expressed concern for anyone caught in the fire as police sirens sound and smoke rises.
A woman was taken to the hospital in shock after being caught in the emergency, at Verulam House in the South West district of London.

The London Fire Brigade said: “Six fire trucks and around 40 firefighters have been called to a fire at a flat in Hammersmith Grove in Hammersmith.
“Part of a floor on the fifth floor of an eight-story block is on.
“The 999 Control Officers of the Brigade have answered 17 calls to the fire.
“The Brigade was called in at 1321. Fire crews from the Chiswick, Fulham, North Kensington and Lambeth fire stations are on site.
“The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.”
Later, the fire service revealed that the fire was under control at 2.16 pm
A spokesperson later said: “Six fire trucks and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a flat in Hammersmith Grove in Hammersmith.
“Part of an apartment on the fifth floor of an eight-story block was on fire. A woman was taken to hospital by teams from the London Ambulance Service suffering from shock.”
They added: “The Brigade was called in at 1.21pm and the fire was under control by 2.16pm. Fire crews from the Chiswick, Fulham, North Kensington and Lambeth fire stations were on the scene.”
“The cause of the fire is still being investigated.”
Station Commander Dan Johnson, who was at the scene, said: “Firefighters faced a highly developed fire upon arrival.
“The smoke was highly visible from outside the building and caused our Control Officers to receive 17 calls to the fire.
“Crews worked hard to deal with the fire and contained it to the affected floor.”
One witness tweeted: “Hope everyone is okay.
“Big fire near Goldhawk Road station.
“We can see flames and smoke from our balcony on Shepherds Bush Road.”
They added: “7 fire trucks and counting. Various ambulances and police officers. Feeling very concerned for everyone.
“I can hear all the sirens. Crazy.
“I hope everyone is okay, the smoke smells so strong.”
Another said: “I have seen more than 10 unmarked police cars with sirens / lights and they keep coming.
“Not a good sign, I guess (across from Shepherd’s Bush Green).”
Twitter user Tim Judah wrote: “Fire now at Verulam House in Shepherds Bush / Hammersmith. Police still do not know what happened inside.”
The London Ambulance Service and the Metropolitan Police have been contacted for comment.
