Kane and Son is hard to sell before Double Gameweek 19

SPURS 3-0 LEEDS

  • Goals: Harry Kane (£ 11.0 million), Son Heung-min (£ 9.7 million), Toby Alderweireld (£ 5.4 million)
  • Attend: Steven Bergwijn (£ 7.0 million), Kane, Jr.
  • Extra points: Kane x3, Son x2, Alderweireld

It may be a new year but the lethal Harry kane (£ 11.0 million) and Son Heung-min (£ 9.7 million) once again proved devastating as Tottenham beat Leeds 3-0 to end a four-game winless streak.

Joining for the Spurs second in the afternoon, their goal assist partnership has reached a total of 13 as they are the most fruitful Premier League duo in a single campaign and for theirth game.

New father Kane scored a penalty in the 29th minute when Steven Bergwijn was fouled by Ezgjan Alioski (£ 4.5 million) around the 18-yard line. Then, minutes after they both landed with punches, Kane and Son started 2021 like they ended 2020.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (£ 4.9m) won possession in midfield and gave the ball to Kane. The forward then cut in a center that was received at the first post by Son, converting past Illan Meslier (£ 4.6 million) for his 100th Tottenham goal.

“The players understood how to close the door to danger and how to explore some weaknesses in their playing that can be exposed. I’m not saying a very good performance, I mean a good performance and three very important points ”. – Jose Mourinho

KANE AND SON: STILL IN BUSINESS

Their recent form had coincided with the Spurs’ poor December, as Son and Kane were left blank in the previous two and three games, respectively.

It may also have worried FPL managers that both had been greatly exceeding their season’s expected goal participation (xGI) numbers. Additionally, the South Korean international’s six goal attempts in the last five weeks of play had been improved by players like Rodri (£ 5.4 million), Luka Milivojevic (£ 5.6 million) and Conor Gallagher (£ 5.5 million).

Yet here, albeit against a Leeds side promising goals at both ends, the two had several promising opportunities. At first, the two were combined on the left side, where the ball bounced towards Kane and a left-footed shot went over the crossbar.

In the second half, Son cut in from the left with plenty of room but hesitated to the point of not even firing. He later created a great Bergwijn opportunity where Meslier parried the shot with his right foot, followed five minutes later by another save that denied Kane from a narrow angle.

Both Son and Kane were popular Gameweek 17 captaincy picks for a reason. Kane is now in double-digit numbers in both goals and assists, with Son posting his seventh double-digit run of the season.

They also participate in one of the five games of Gameweek 18 and, although they only play once in the following doubles week, it is on the road for bottom Sheffield United. When devising a chip strategy, getting rid of them while blindly chasing the two-game players can be rushed.

REGUILON MISSING

José Mourinho had never faced Leeds before but, as Wednesday’s game against Fulham was postponed due to positive coronavirus (COVID-19) test results, his players entered the procedure on a six-day break from they conceded the last draw against the Wolves.

Two changes were made to the side, including Sergio Reguilon (£ 5.7 million) being named a substitute and losing a clean sheet – the Spurs’ first since four weeks of games 8-11.

Toby Alderweireld It was the other change and he didn’t miss it, also heading home the third goal from a Son corner. Matt doherty (£ 5.7 million), sent off in injury time after collecting his second yellow card, chipped in just three points. He will miss the EFL Cup semi-final against Brentford.

“We suffered a goal from set pieces and in the game we created 10 chances but we didn’t score any goals, our rivals created 12 but scored three. For me, the fundamental difference was efficiency and the fact that his offensive game came about through mistakes that we could have avoided. – Marcelo Bielsa

BOX OFFICE LEEDS

Kalvin phillips (£ 4.9 million), however, will not be present at Leeds’ next league game after being booked for the fifth time this season. That will be the first of their two Double Gameweek 19 matches, possibly undermining asset appeal across departments for the excellent round of matches.

This, of course, will also be a blow to Marcelo Bielsa, after managing to name a team virtually unchanged the last six times, only replacing the injured Liam cooper (£ 4.3 million) with Pascal Struijk (£ 3.9m) three games ago.

The Leeds team were undaunted by the third goal, controlling the rest of the match in the same positive way that it started. Left-back Alioski found himself in the penalty area after four minutes, when his shot hit the side net. On the other side, popular peak Stuart dallas (4.8 million pounds) was constantly coming into the box from the other side.

“In the second part, in the second part, we dominated again. We had a good offensive production ”. – Marcelo Bielsa

I UNDERSTAND DOUBLE GAME WEEK 19

Despite Phillips’ absence from the Brighton game, Dallas is still very attractive before facing Seagulls and Southampton at the Double Gameweek.

The Northern Ireland international produced a 12-point loot at West Brom and only Kurt zouma (£ 5.8 million) has scored more than his three goals in 2020/21.

Wildcard and Free Hit managers will also look for a cheap end Raphinha (£ 5.5 million). He had the most shots of any midfielder in the previous six games and is always looking to get involved. In the first half, his left-handed swinger center found Patrick Bamford (6.6 million pounds), whose header went above the bar.

Bamford looked brilliant in the first half. Owned by 49.3% of FPL coaches, he is the game’s most prominent cheap forward, whose ten goals and five assists make him the third highest-scoring forward in the FPL.

Tottenham Hotspur XI (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Doherty, Alderweireld, Dier, Davies; Hojbjerg, Winks (Sissoko 76 ‘), Ndombele (Lucas Moura 78’), Bergwijn, Kane (Vinicius 87 ‘), Son.

Leeds United XI (4-1-4-1): Meslier; Dallas, Ayling, Struijk, Alioski (Shackleton 64 ‘); Phillips; Raphinha, Klich, Rodrigo (Hernandez 65 ‘), Harrison (Poveda 61’); Bamford.
