Cardiff Central MP Jo Stevens is being treated in hospital for coronavirus.

The MP team confirmed the news on Saturday night.

Using their Twitter account, they said: “From #TeamJoStevens – Jo has asked us to notify her that she is being treated at the hospital for Covid. Thank you for all your good wishes, we will give her an update when we can.”

On New Year’s Eve, Labor shadow cabinet minister staff revealed that the 54-year-old had been suffering with Covid-19 “for a while.”

They said, “From #TeamJoStevens – Jo has been ignored with COVID for a while, so on behalf of us and Jo, Happy New Year everyone at #CardiffCentral. For a healthier and better 2021. Tonight we will be thinking of everyone those who have lost loved ones to this terrible virus. “

On Saturday night MPs like Wayne David and Alex Davies-Jones sent Ms Stevens their best wishes.

Prime Minister Mark Drakeford said: “All our thoughts and best wishes go out to Jo for a speedy recovery. Thanks to the Jo constituency team for continuing to support the voters of Cardiff Central at this difficult time. Brysiwch wella Jo!”
