Gary Neville believes “naive” Aaron Wan-Bissaka was to blame for Aston Villa’s first goal as Man Utd won 2-1 on Friday night.
The Red Devils joined rivals Liverpool with 33 points, with Bruno Fernandes scoring from the spot shortly after Bertrand Traore nullified Anthony Martial’s effort to secure victory against Villa.
Wan-Bissaka provided the assist for Martial to open the scoring, but it was his work at the other end that saw him receive criticism from Neville.

The former Manchester United right-back claimed that Wan-Bissaka should have come back to mark Jack Grealish for Villa’s goal rather than attempt a block.
“That has been coming,” Neville said during his comment to Sky sports.
“He’s so naive from that side of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, what is he doing? Villa was knocking on the door and they finally knocked her down.
“Watch it [Wan-Bissaka], locks it initially. He turns his back on him and doesn’t run backwards Try blocking it again, it’s crazy.
“Once you put Grealish in that position, the quality is fantastic. Traore makes it look simple in the end. That is perfect of him and leaves no chance for Maguire and De Gea.
“You do one thing or the other. Either he gets the reservation and stops it or he goes back and dials Jack Grealish. Is poor [from Wan-Bissaka]. “
When asked about his role in Aston Villa’s goal, Wan Bissaka said: “They played a quick [free-kick] And it’s unfortunate, but as you can see, we hit back. “
The right-back added: “[The win] It means a lot, it shows where we come from, since the beginning of the season. We just take it game by game. It was a late start for us, we were catching up [mode]but we are here now. There are no excuses.”
