Residents have been evacuated from their homes on one of Manchester’s main south roads following the discovery of “suspicious items” on a property.
The bomb squad has been dispatched to the scene in Fallowfield.
Emergency services are stationed on Wilmslow Road, between Derby Road and Brook Road.
Police, paramedics and firefighters are on the scene.
Some residents told the Manchester evening news they had been evacuated from their apartments on Wilmslow Road earlier in the evening.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “Police are present at a property on Wilmslow Road, Fallowfield, following the discovery of suspicious items within the property.
“A property has been evacuated as a precautionary measure while investigations are being conducted.
“Disposal of bombs should be done to make an assessment of the items found within the property.
“This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is not believed to be a broader threat.”
At around 11:30 pm, a police cordon was placed between the Shell service station and nearby Victoria Road. The cordon was later extended, covering the area between the gas station and Derby Road.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue personnel were seen in conversations with officers.
Paramedics were seen in standby incident response unit vehicles.
