Carlo Ancelotti declined to discuss Everton’s plans for the January transfer window following the loss to West Ham.
The Blues manager was questioned about his interest in Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira, but was in no mood to discuss possible earnings this month.
Reports have claimed that Khedira is ready to start talks with Everton about a move from Italy this month and before Christmas, Ancelotti hinted at his interest in a meeting with the player he coached at Real Madrid.
But after the Blues’ 1-0 loss to West Ham at Goodison, Ancelotti wasn’t about to get carried away out of the January window.
When asked if there was any truth to the reports, Ancelotti said: “The only truth is that the market is open. That’s it.”
The Everton manager was then asked if he expected the club to do business this month and replied: “We are not talking about this.
“We are focused on getting back the players who have not been with us at this time.”
