Rayleigh Worcester Drive murder: man found dead in the early hours of New Year’s Day when police arrest three suspects

A man has been found dead in Rayleigh in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

Essex police rushed to Worcester Drive just before 1 a.m. this morning (January 1, 2021) where they discovered an unresponsive man inside a property.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics.

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the incident.

Police confirmed that a 39-year-old local man and a 23-year-old woman, as well as a 25-year-old woman from Basildon, were arrested on suspicion of murder.

The local woman was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.

The police believe that all parties involved knew each other.

An Essex Police spokesperson added: “We would like to thank the locals in the area who were incredibly calm and helpful on the scene this morning.
