The Spanish international was photographed training on Christmas Eve, but Klopp cautioned that the playmaker is unlikely to make the trip to St James’ Park.
He told the club’s website: “I like to see all my boys play and with Thiago, of course he had a few minutes, I would say, until he got injured.
“Of course we are looking forward to that, but I don’t know. It is not very likely to travel. [to Newcastle], let me put it like this.
“He needs a few sessions, he was really out for a long time after a really tough challenge, that was a fitting hit. Nothing broke, nothing broke, but obviously that took time and it still takes time.
“We cannot rush, we will not. So I do not know “.
