Liverpool are currently at the top of the Premier League table and are three points ahead of Leicester City in second place.
The Reds have lost just one game in the top flight this season as Jurgen Klopp looks to help his team secure back-to-back title wins.
Yet Klopp’s men have already drawn far more games than they had at this stage last season in their record-breaking, title-winning campaign.
In their most recent game, West Bromwich Albion came to Anfield and managed to steal a point later, with the game ending 1-1, which has been a familiar marker for the Reds recently.
In fact, at this stage of last season, the Reds had only tied one game, compared to the five draws they have already endured this season, four of which ended at 1-1.
Former Premier League forward Chris Sutton has been talking about Liverpool, even more so about Klopp, and thinks the charismatic German coach has not been himself so far this season could be one reason the Reds pulled off so many draws.
“I don’t know if it’s because of the injury situation or what, but he doesn’t seem comfortable with himself,” Sutton said in BBC Radio 5Live.
“We know what kind of character he is, super positive, but he seems aggravated this season. I certainly don’t think that’s a good thing for Liverpool or their players.”
“Maybe it’s the injury situation, but it doesn’t seem right this season for some reason.”
Also on the virtual call with Sutton was Micah Richards, who argued that Klopp was purposely trying to deflect pressure from his players.
Richards said: “He’s a winner, right? No top manager takes a loss kindly. I understand what Chris is saying, he seems to be annoying.
“I think it’s due more to injuries and games than anything else. When he loses Van Dijk and Gómez, two of the best defenders on the match schedule.
“It’s frustrating because once your levels are so high and Liverpool know that once all of their players are in shape, they are an incredible team.

“I wouldn’t worry, I like the fact that he always protects his players no matter what.
“It takes a lot of pressure off his players. A lot of people might think he’s complaining about this and that, but actually, he’s taking all the pressure off his players.”
“That’s leadership. I don’t think people look at that side of things. Some of the points he makes about not wanting to play the 12:30 game, I don’t agree with him on that because in the last 10 to 15 years, it has always happened, but it took away the prominence from the players so that they could concentrate on what they had to do on the field. “
Liverpool are next in action on Wednesday night as they look to get back on the winning track against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.
The Reds could welcome Thiago Alcantara for the trip northeast, but they aren’t sure if Joel Matip will be available after limping in Sunday’s draw.
