Today, heavy snowfall has hit parts of the UK, including the West Midlands and Cotswolds, as police warned people to be careful due to delays on the roads.
There were reports of snow falling in counties such as Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Staffordshire, as well as Birmingham and Stourbridge, and lighter rains as far south as Devon.
Gloucestershire Police tweeted: “Heavy snow is beginning to fall in rural parts of the county. This will cause road delays. Only go out if essential to do so.”
“We are getting a number of reports of snow across the county causing disruptions, particularly in the Forest of Dean and the A417 around Birdlip. Please stay safe and avoid all unnecessary travel.”

Snow and ice advisories are in effect for much of the UK today, including London, as a cold snap hits in the wake of Storm Bella.
It occurs when around 100 flood warnings remain in effect in England, along with around 180 less severe flood warnings.
The snow had already fallen in parts of Scotland, North Ireland and England, even in the Peak District in Derbyshire, Sunday afternoon.
The Met Office issued a yellow “attention” warning for snow and ice on Monday until 6pm across Wales and some parts of England from the Midlands to the south coast.

There may be up to 5-10 cm of snow in some areas of higher ground.
The advice of meteorologists warns of the possibility of injuries from icy surfaces and delays in trains and road transport.
The warning read: “An area of rain is likely to move south overnight on Sunday and Monday across parts of England and Wales. There is a possibility that this will turn to snow for a time.”
“There is a lot of uncertainty as to where the snow is developing and in some areas there is little or no accumulation.
“However, there is a very low probability that they will fall between 1 and 3 cm and locally between 5 and 10 cm in some places, especially on higher terrain in Wales above 200 meters. In addition to the snow, the ice spread It can also be a problem, especially where treatment has washed off road surfaces. “
The chilly temperatures follow several days of extreme weather over the Christmas period, which saw severe flooding in parts of southern England before Storm Bella hit on Boxing Day, with winds exceeding 160 km / h.

Sky News weather anchor Isobel Lang said: “There will be winter showers in the eastern and southeastern counties of England, although the most persistent area of winter weather moving south over central, southern and southwestern England is more worrying.
“There will likely be some morning snow there, especially over the Salisbury Plain, the Mendips and the Cotswolds.
“Some places will miss the rains and see some good spells of sunshine, but everywhere it will feel chilly, particularly with strong westerly winds.”
Later in the week and into the New Year, the Met Office says conditions will remain cool with sunshine and the possibility of winter showers.
As of 9am on Monday, around 100 flood warnings were still in effect across England calling for immediate action as floods were expected, along with 177 flood alerts.
There were also several flood warnings and alerts in Wales.
