Weather Office forecast of when it might snow where you live today in Greater Manchester

It wasn’t exactly the white Christmas we see in all those holiday movies.

But there was a layer of snow in Greater Manchester on Christmas Day.

However, things quickly turned to strong winds and heavy rain as Storm Bella began to approach Boxing Day.

Since then, the Met Office has issued a yellow weather advisory for snow and ice from 6pm tonight (Sunday) through Monday morning.

Therefore, sleet, snow and flooding are expected in parts of Greater Manchester as the extreme weather front begins.

But how is the place where you are going to be? Here’s a look at the county-by-county Weather Bureau forecast.

Rochdale

After a heavy rain around 4pm, Rochdale Residents can expect sleet for a few hours starting at 5:00 pm before heavy snow is forecast beginning at 6:00 pm before it clears around 8:00 pm

Oldham

Oldham you’re seeing a similar weather pattern with heavy snowfall forecast around 5pm, turning to sleet later in the evening.

Tameside

In Tameside, residents probably shouldn’t be digging their sled, as the Weather Office forecasts snow around 7 p.m. after an afternoon of heavy rain and sleet.

Bury and Bolton

Bury and Bolton Residents may see some snow tonight and heavy rain is forecast starting at 7pm, but this is after an episode of heavy rain in the early evening. It will turn to sleet around 9pm.

Salford, Stockport, Manchester, Trafford and Wigan

Those in Salford, Stockport, and Manchester should also forget about building a snowman, as only heavy rain and sleet are forecast for the area before a cloudy night.

Anyone in Trafford should also look forward to a rainy afternoon and night with the Met Office not forecasting snow.

And in Wigan, it looks like it’s going to be a disaster with the rain getting heavier starting at 2:00 pm with chances of hail.
