Mrs. Brown’s Boys creator Brendan O’Carroll is being sued by his former co-star Gary Hollywood, it was reported.
O’Carroll faces claims of constructive termination and discrimination in the workplace following a discussion about salary, according to the Sunday Star Daily.
Hollywood, 41, who reportedly resigned from comedy earlier this year, is also taking legal action against the BBC, the newspaper said.
Hollywood, who played Dino Doyle, told the newspaper: “I feel like they don’t pay me equally and they don’t give me an explanation for the decisions.
“When I tried to figure it out, nothing was done. They just ignored me. But I won’t take it anymore.
“They won’t treat me like that. This has gone too far. They shouldn’t do this to people.
“I am taking legal action. The documents have been presented to a court and the process has begun.”
Hollywood said it believes he was paid less than his co-stars for a spinoff show All around Mrs. Brown.
He said that after raising the issue with the bosses, they pulled it out of special holiday episodes this year.
A BBC spokesperson declined to comment on the allegations.
