The final table of the Premier League predicted and it is bad news for José Mourinho and Tottenham

[ad_1]

Tottenham’s strong start to the season suddenly looks slightly different after back-to-back Premier League losses at the hands of Liverpool and Leicester City.

Having led the league for much of the first few weeks, José Mourinho’s men are now in sixth place and six points behind leaders Liverpool and talks of a title challenge are fading fast.

In reality, the Spurs are still up for a scream and there’s little reason to panic despite the two slips, particularly given the list of ultra-difficult games they’ve had to navigate in recent weeks.

Although, while Mourinho will tell his men not to panic, the latest data suggests the Spurs are on their way to sneak past the title race.

FiveThirtyEight updates its predictions regularly based on each result, and their prediction table suggests that Tottenham will finish as low as 5th and 15 points behind the leaders.

The data suggests that Tottenham has only a 2% chance of winning the league and only a 35% chance of being in the top four, 11% less than Chelsea’s chances.

The forecast table places Spurs four points behind Frank Lampard’s men and three points ahead of Leicester City, which is tilted to drop to sixth despite a strong start to the season.

Manchester City, who are off to an uneven start, currently eight points off the top with one game in hand, are bowed to win the title, just one goal difference ahead of Liverpool, while Manchester United are said to be I will probably finish third.
