Arsenal have been warned they are “in free fall” with Mikel Arteta ahead of their crucial Boxing Day showdown with Chelsea.
The Gunners are heading to the London derby after having won just once in their previous 10 Premier League games, and following Wednesday’s 4-1 loss to Man City in the League Cup.
Arteta’s position is now coming under serious scrutiny, with the dismissal of PSG manager Thomas Tuchel, who is now leading calls from fans for the Spaniard to be replaced in command.
It seems the Arsenal boss is also struggling with a great deal of player power behind the scenes, as the recent exchange between Matteo Guendouzi and Mesut Ozil on social media seemed to suggest.
And former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has now questioned Arteta’s erratic decision-making.

“It seems like these are key moments decisions,” Keown said. talkSPORT . “Part and he came back for just a couple of days training and now we are without him for two or three months.
“I think the support base that surrounds the coach really has to help him with every decision.

Arteta was unable to capitalize on the FA Cup victory in August after defeating Saturday’s rival Chelsea in the final.
Indeed, that piece of silver sets him apart from his rival on the bench, Frank Lampard, who has yet to win a trophy with his team.
However, it is clear that the two managers have completely different tasks ahead of them, with Chelsea’s significant investment pushing them towards the title contest, while Arsenal appears to be more of a long-term project.
The Arsenal management has supported Arteta in the transfer market, but several of his signings are already being questioned.

In particular, Willian’s acquisition in a free trade from Chelsea is one of the best, and the Brazilian has failed to impress since arriving in the Emirates.
With the Gunners’ back against the wall and pressure on Arteta, he apparently has no room to maneuver, and Tuchel’s new availability only adds to the restlessness of Arsenal fans.
And Keown has told Arteta that he can’t afford to make any more wrong turns.
