There have been another 47 deaths from coronavirus in Scotland over the past 24 hours.
The Scottish government also announced that 1,190 new cases of COVID-19 were reported overnight, bringing the total number to 115,566.
1,025 people are in the hospital receiving treatment for the deadly virus while 56 people remain in intensive care, four fewer than yesterday.
The news came on the day when Scotland’s top clinical director said that Nicola Sturgeon not wearing a mask in a pub was “easy”.
Jason Leitch said the Prime Minister is “furious” with herself, but defended the “short lapse” after a photo of her appeared speaking to three people as she left a close colleague’s funeral.
The strict Scottish government coronavirus rules state that customers in hospitality venues must wear a face cover except when sitting, and must wear one when moving.
Sturgeon was attending the funeral of a Scottish government official.
She said: “Last Friday, while attending a funeral, I took off my mask briefly. It was a stupid mistake and I’m so sorry.
“I talk every day about the importance of masks so I’m not going to offer any excuses. I was wrong, I’m kicking myself and I’m sorry.”
The Scottish Sun reported that he was at the Stable Bar and Restaurant after attending a funeral at the nearby Mortonhall Crematorium.
In an interview with BBC Radio Scotland today, Leitch said: “I think the Prime Minister knows this matters, I think she is as furious with herself as some might be with her.”
“We had a brief conversation last night and she is absolutely pissed off at this little lapse of concentration.”
