It comes after it was claimed earlier this week that five crew members on set had ‘retired’ after Tom ‘launched into a second furious spiel.’
The actor is said to have given staff an X-rated reprimand after he caught them breaking UK Covid rules at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, on Tuesday.
One source claimed that after news of the first outbreak was made public, there has been “more anger” over the already “tense” production.
A source told The Sun: ‘The tension has been building for months and this was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Since it was made public, there has been more anger and several staff members have walked.

But Tom can’t take it anymore after all the efforts they’ve made to keep filming. He’s upset that others don’t take him as seriously as he does.
They added that it is Tom who feels responsible for the production after spending so much time and money ensuring that the necessary precautions are taken so that the crew can film.
MailOnline contacted representatives for Tom Cruise for comment at the time.
The Hollywood star was previously reported to have scolded workers who disobeyed social distancing rules while filming at Warner Bros. Studios.
Invoking the no-nonsense attitude of his character, Ethan Hunt, the actor is said to have told them ‘If I see you doing it again, you’ll be gone.’
The newspaper said the reprimand was recorded on audiotape, on which he is heard adding: ‘And if someone on this team does it, that’s it, and so do you and so do you.
And you, never do it again. We’re not closing this damn movie. ‘

Filming on the latest film in the hit franchise, Mission: Impossible 7, is underway.
The actor has already been seen filming in Rome for the film, in which he will reprise the role of fictional American secret agent Ethan Hunt.
Last month, Tom was spotted driving a vintage yellow Fiat 500 in the Italian capital as he prepared for dramatic scenes of confrontation with a squad of police cars.
The star was seen attempting to drive his small vehicle down a wide city boulevard, before apparently taking off when he encountered the army of police cars and motorcycles.
In previous weeks, he was seen filming several scenes in the Italian capital with his Mission: Impossible 7 co-star Hayley Atwell, 38.
Filming has also taken place in Venice, as well as Great Britain and Norway.
Frustrating: Filming was already delayed for months after COVID-19 swept through Italy, where production had been based in March, leading to a delayed release.
But the movie has already suffered delays. The team was forced to stop production due to Covid.
Many of the vital scenes had to be shot in Italy, which was at one time the center of the global pandemic.
In October, the Top Gun star held crisis talks with director Christopher McQuarrie after 12 people on set reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.
Health chiefs were said to be tracking the contacts of those who tested positive after filming was suspended, dashing hopes that it was an isolated case.
Last month, The Sun reported that 150 movie extras were informed that they were not supposed to attend to film scenes that were scheduled for the night.
While no official reason was given for the sudden decision, it was claimed that a coronavirus test had come back positive on production, so filming had to be temporarily suspended.
Crew also urged members of the public to remain socially distanced from each other while waiting to see the stars, while Tom and director Christopher are also said to have made the request.
The star has been wearing a mask on set and has reportedly been keeping an eye out for violators of Covid rules as well.
According to The Sun, he has paid £ 500,000 of his own money to pay for a cruise for the cast and crew to isolate themselves.
Mission: Impossible 7 will be released on November 19, 2021.
