Princess Beatrice is accused of breaking Covid rules by ‘joining five friends for a three-hour indoor dinner at a fancy restaurant,’ but she insists it was a BUSINESS MEETING

  • Princess Beatriz, 32, was seen with her husband Edoardo Mozzi, 37, and 4 other people
  • They were photographed at the fancy Mayfair Isabel restaurant on Wednesday night
  • Under the Level 2 lockdown, only members of the same household can gather inside
  • Dinner has been dismissed as an ‘introductory business meeting’ by royal sources
  • Other diners said the event looked ‘very social’ and there was alcohol on the table
  • Beatrice took a photo with her friend Peter Dundas that broke social distancing
  • Princess Beatrice was accused last night of violating coronavirus lockdown rules by dining with members of different households in a London restaurant.

The 32-year-old royalty was seen with her husband, 37-year-old property developer Edoardo Mozzi, and four other people at Mayfair’s upscale Isabel restaurant on Wednesday night.

Under the capital’s strict Tier 2 closure rules, only members of the same household can meet indoors, even in restaurants.

The three-hour dinner has been dismissed as an ‘introductory business meeting’ by royal sources, which would make it permissible under current rules.

But other diners said the event looked “very social” and alcohol was seen on the princess’s table.

At one point during the night, Beatrice, ninth in line to the throne, took a photo with her friend fashion designer Peter Dundas in which the mask-wearing couple violated social distancing rules.

He shared the image online saying it was good to ‘catch up’ with the princess.

Her husband, 37-year-old real estate developer Edoardo Mozzi (pictured with the Princess in Mayfair earlier this month) also attended dinner with Beatrice and four other friends.

A restaurant colleague, who asked not to be identified, told The Sun: ‘I couldn’t believe my eyes. If the Royal Family cannot make the coronavirus rules correct, what hope do the rest of us have?

They added: “There is a very serious side to this and Beatrice deserves a tick-tock.”

London’s infection rate per 100,000 residents stood at 191.8 on December 6, up from 158.1 the week before.

The three-hour dinner at Isabel (pictured) has been dismissed as an 'introductory business meeting' by actual sources, which would make it permissible under current rules.

The figures put it ahead of regions like the West Midlands, which are already at Tier 3.

Beatrice is not an active member of the royal family and instead works for the American software company Afiniti as “vice president of partnerships and strategy.”

A manager of Isabel said that he was not working the night the real came in, but stressed that the restaurant follows all the government’s guidelines.

He said that if it is understood that a group does not live under the same roof, they will not be granted a table.
