One lucky ticket has claimed tonight’s record EuroMillions jackpot and will receive a whopping € 200 million (£ 175 million).
If the ticket, which was bought in France, is in the hands of a single player, it has now become the biggest winner in the history of the pan-European lottery.
The winner is now instantly richer than Adele (£ 150 million), Sir Tom Jones (£ 170 million), golfer Rory McIlroy (£ 170 million) and the four of Little Mix together (£ 48 million).
Next Tuesday’s EuroMillions jackpot will now be £ 15 million.
The French player matched the five main numbers and the two Lucky Stars.
They were 6, 9, 13, 24, 41 and the lucky stars were 3 and 12.
They had a one in 140 million chance of winning the jackpot.
This is not just a record win for the French lottery, but the largest in EuroMillions history, which began in 2004.
The biggest previous gain was 190 million euros, which has been earned twice in the UK, once in Spain and once in Portugal.
The biggest French victory was in 2012, when someone won 170 million euros.
However, there is also a lot of good news for the Brits in tonight’s draw as it looks like they have made five millionaires in the main EuroMillions draw, and the UK Thunderball was also won.
Camelot revealed that of the 12 tickets that took second prize, matching all five main numbers and one of the two Lucky Stars, the prize per winning ticket from the UK tonight was £ 1,886,380.
While Lottery.co.uk claims that of the 12 second prize tickets, five were purchased in the UK, suggesting that five UK ticket holders have pocketed £ 1.8 million each tonight, a total of £ 9,431,900.
Meanwhile, a Briton won tonight’s UK Thunderball draw, taking home £ 500,000 that can’t be sniffed out.
The UK’s biggest winner took home £ 170.2 million in October 2019 and remained anonymous.
Previous biggest winners were Colin and Chris Weir of Largs in North Ayrshire, who won £ 161 million in July 2011.
Camelot Winner Advisor Andy Carter said: “The current jackpot is amazing.
“The best advice I can give to people who have made a life-changing amount is to take your time. Don’t be in a rush to buy something fancy or give it away. “
It comes after a warehouse worker who was suspended during the pandemic and then lost her job over the summer earned a whopping £ 242,775.50 in EuroMillions.
Samantha Morton, 36, was fired in March from her job as a warehouse and logistics manager in Dorset and during this time she moved to Essex to live with her boyfriend, Barry Lingard, 26.
She was later laid off for the summer and found a new job as a warehouse operator.
But then things took a turn when he realized he had won £ 242,775.50 in the EuroMillions draw on November 27th, with an online Lucky Dip.
She admits she was “a little stunned” after finding out she had won.
