‘I never look beyond Manchester United’: Marcus Rashford insists he wants to stay at Old Trafford for the rest of his career, as the young Red Devils forward says ‘it would not be good for him’ to play for a rival

Marcus Rashford plans to spend his entire career at Manchester United.
The 23-year-old has quickly become a United icon after graduating from the club’s academy and stated that he would never contemplate playing for an opponent.
Rashford faces one of those, Manchester City, at Old Trafford on Saturday as United tries to bounce back from an irritating Champions League exit in the middle of the week.

“I never look beyond Manchester United and as a child I never looked beyond Manchester United,” Rashford said.
In my mind, it would not sit well with me to put on another shirt. I just want to do the best that I can. Hopefully I’m here for a long time. ‘
Rashford praised United’s support for his empowerment in the campaign after receiving the Sport for Social Change award at the British Sports Awards.
The forward, a United supporter in his childhood, believes the care given to him by academy staff as a child is the key reason he has thrived.

“All the good things that have happened this year stem from Manchester United giving me the opportunity as a child,” added Rashford.
‘I don’t just remember the last year or the last five years. I’m talking about times when no one in my family was driving and I had to go to practice, when United had people come and take me to training camp and back home when I was between six and nine years old. “
Rashford also detailed the lengths United went to ensuring they provide for his family and his mother, Melanie.
He praised the club for supporting him and his mother Melanie (right) as a child.
“ I mean times when I was put into accommodation when my mother had problems at home when I was 11 years old. I was there until I was 16 or 17.
“It is much deeper than what people sometimes see. People only see what’s been going on since I’ve been in the first team, but the bond I have with United is much greater than that.
“It will always be bigger than my current career because they are the reason why I have become a footballer and they have given me the opportunity to express myself.”
