Anthony Joshua says that his world title fight with Kubrat Pulev will end with “the last man standing” as he made a brutal prediction at the final press conference.

The WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight title holder faces Pulev this Saturday, live Sky Sports box office, and Joshua issued a chilling warning to his Bulgarian rival.

After an intense showdown, Pulev declared himself the “new champion,” but Joshua has hinted at his destructive intentions after reclaiming his belts from Andy Ruiz Jr in a rematch last December.

“I’ve been hit many times by the strongest people and I’m still here today,” Joshua said.

“That never changed me, so when I suffered a small loss to Ruiz, I don’t think that’s enough to change someone like me. I have a lot of character. Every fighter trains hard, but it’s character that separates us. And I feel like that I have a lot of character, I would love to be there.

“They will definitely beat me and so will he, so he will be the last man standing.”

Joshua got revenge for his first loss to Ruiz Jr in New York last June, sealing a huge points win in Saudi Arabia, and insists he knows how to deal with the high expectations before his last fight.

“The pressure I went through last year was tough, but it made me stronger, mentally,” Joshua said.

“My skin grew thicker and I have always been tough. I always wanted to fight the best. That has never been a problem.

“What do I have to lose? I have everything to gain. I want to be successful in boxing, and the only way to be successful is by facing good challengers and this is another one I’m looking forward to competing with.”

Pulev was forced to pull out of a scheduled fight against Joshua three years ago due to injury, but insists he is ready to seize his second world title shot after suffering a lone loss to Wladimir Klitschko in 2014.

“Yes, I think I have it all,” Pulev said. “Respect for Anthony, Olympic Champion and World Champion.

“Respect, a good fighter, but I’m ready. I have everything to be champion.”
