Hackney Police said: ‘At 11:55 am on Thursday, December 10, staff at a school on Clissold Road, Stoke Newington #Hackney contacted police.
‘The school had received a bomb threat. The school was evacuated and officers are present. The laces are in place while the police investigate.
Parents took to social media to express their concerns about their children.
One wrote: ‘I got a message from my son saying the police are out of school and everyone has to go to the park.’
Another added: ‘My son said everyone is safe in the park, but none of the teachers know what’s going on.’
The students were then lined up in a park near the school before being sent home when officers pounced on the site.
Hackney Police said: “ At 11:55 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, staff at a school on Clissold Road, Stoke Newington #Hackney contacted the police. ”
Hackney City Council said: ‘Stoke Newington School will close early today after an incident.
‘Staff and students have been evacuated and police are completing building checks.
‘Clissold Road and Clissold Leisure Center are also closed. Avoid the area while the zipper is in place. ‘
