Rio Ferdinand has agreed with Jurgen Klopp the time it takes for the VAR to make decisions in matches.
A much-changed Liverpool drew 1-1 at Midtjylland in their final match of the Champions League group stage on Wednesday night in a controversial match.
There were three prolonged VAR saves in the second half, with a goal disallowed by both sides and Caoimhin Kelleher taking a penalty despite an offside flag being raised.
Liverpool thought they had won the match at the end when Takumi Minamino converted the ball from close range, only for the VAR to disallow it due to a handheld from Sadio Mane.

Speaking after the game, Klopp criticized how long he made the decision, to which Ferdinand agreed, although he admitted that the VAR had made the right decisions.
Ferdinand told BT Sport: “At first, I thought it was going to be a goal, but then we were lucky enough to see it.”
“With the time it takes for the VAR to make these decisions, we saw it very well. He hit Mane, and in the end it was the right decision.
“I agree with Klopp, however long it takes, you can see it in slow motion easily, but we are sitting here for four or five minutes. Crazy. But it was handball.”

Klopp, a staunch advocate for the well-being of players in this coronavirus-hit season, said waiting so long for decisions to be made in Denmark in mid-December was not an ideal situation and admitted that he is starting to change his mind about it. VAR due to situations like that.
“It just took too long. I think in the end, I didn’t see it back, the decisions were good but it was so difficult that it took three or four minutes and it was cold for the guys,” he said.
“It’s really difficult and I could hear people say ‘OMG.’ It took a long time and it was very cold, which doesn’t help.
“I used to be one of the people who said VAR is a good idea, I’m really not sure if I would say that again to be honest. But now we have it.”
