Here are the first images from Cyberpunk 2077 retailer. PC “href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/platforms/pc/ “> PC.

The images of the console shown on this page were captured from the PlayStation 4 “href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/platforms/playstation/ps4/ “> version of the game for PlayStation 4, which VGC received on Tuesday , which runs on a PlayStation 5 “href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/platforms/playstation/ps5/ “> PS5 through backward compatibility mode.

The PC images were captured on a machine running a GeForce RTX 2070, Intel Core i7-8086K at 4.00 GHz and 16 GB of RAM, with all visual settings set for medium and maximum level ray tracing.

Due to media restrictions, we are unable to share video footage until a later date, but the images below should provide some context on the level of visual fidelity PS5 players can expect.

After about an hour of play, we are impressed with the way the game builds up visually compared to PC, considering that this version of the game is designed to run on older console hardware (albeit with a performance boost from PS5 ).

In our limited time with the console version, which includes CD Projekt “href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/companies/cd-projekt/ “> CD Projekt Red day one patch, it is impossible to know how much has improved in terms of bugs compared to the PC preview, which as described in our Cyberpunk 2077 review, suffered a significant number of bugs.

However, we did notice some minor graphical issues in the early section of the game and eventually even suffered a crash. Like on PC, visual errors weren’t significant enough to spoil the experience, but hang is a concern (we never experienced a hang in tens of hours on PC).

As shown in our comparison screens, the cinematic sections of the Cyberpunk opening compare well on PS4 compared to PC. This is good news, as we found the narrative and cinematic scenes of 2077 to be its best feature. It also seems to work at 60fps, which is a huge plus.

On the streets, there seems to be a reduction in NPCs and vehicles, while general lighting cannot stack on a high-end computer, as expected.

As detailed in VGC’s Cyberpunk 2077 review: “As a narrative experience, 2077 is without a doubt one of the most immersive and fascinating video games to date, beating titles with much less complexity and certainly fewer pages of script.

“… RPGs of this complexity are usually forgiven for their flat character renderings and lackluster animation, but the Cyberpunk cast is as compelling as we’ve seen, when launch day mistakes don’t make their cigarettes float in the air, at least. “

On our experience with launch errors, the review adds: “This level of complexity naturally comes at a cost, especially at a time when the game has had to be shipped via remote work.

“At launch, Cyberpunk 2077 has a significant number of bugs and you will almost certainly encounter several if you choose to play this side of 2021. During our walkthrough, we encountered floating stages, stuck UI elements, teleportation characters, and game glitches. audio, and it was even worse before the first patch came out.

“If this is enough to spoil the launch experience it will probably be different for each player. The issues aren’t game-breaking and they certainly didn’t ruin our overall experience, but there’s little doubt that Cyberpunk would have been a more polished game if CD Projekt had delayed it once again for further testing.

“If you’ve already racked up a ton of games to play over Christmas, it might be worth considering saving your trip to Night City until more patches arrive. That said, if you can ignore the numerous graphical glitches, 2077 is still a tremendous experience at its core. And with more patches, it will be a must. “

Cyberpunk 2077 currently has a Metascore 91 on the review aggregation site Metacritic, based on 46 PC reviews.
