Carlo Ancelotti’s turn. “We need more confidence, more consistency, more balance. The last two games we have improved, but today it would be a good sign to perform well, play well and have points. I had some good ideas in training and it worked well, but the test is today. It will be difficult against a strong team with good organization ”.

Sean Dyche, who takes charge of Burnley in the Premier League for the 200th time today, speaks to BT Sport. “The way the game has changed, for British coaches, achieving things in the Premier League or being in the Premier League is a task, and very difficult. We have earned our way and kept it with good planning and good preparation and a lot of hard work, not just for myself, I have a really good team and group of players. Our DL is getting better and stronger, that’s been getting to us, of course. Preamble
Everton’s seven-game winning sequence at the start of the season seems to have been a long time ago. Since then they have played six games, all in the Premier League, losing four, drawing one and winning another, and they did very hard against Fulham.
At first glance, a visit to the second Burnley seems like an ideal opportunity to regain some of that lost momentum. Especially like Sean Dyche – 200 Premier League games today! – is presiding over a team that has lost six of its top nine, has only scored two goals in its last eight and was beaten 5-0 at Manchester City last weekend.
But it is not fair to judge a team by their performance at City. Before that, they had drawn at Brighton and picked up their first triple of the season at home against Crystal Palace. Signs that the Burnley of yesteryear was beginning to awaken from its slumber. Furthermore, Everton doesn’t tend to like him at Turf Moor, having lost four of their last six league games there and failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 22 visits, a career that dates back to 1958. 1958!
Perhaps more relevant: Burnley won this match 1-0 last year, while Everton broke it 5-1 the previous year, an exception that breaks the rule. So good luck calling this one up correctly, although with both teams desperate for the statement victory that would get their season back on track, this could be a lot of fun. Its on!
