The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for possible snowfall and heavy rain in Hertfordshire this morning (Friday 4 December).
Temperatures have dropped as low as 1 ° C in some places, it feels much colder, and there is a possibility of snowfall in several areas during the first few hours.
Forecasters have warned of “heavy rain and snow” that will likely cause difficult driving conditions due to “surface water and possible accumulations of mud.”
Residents have been advised to adapt their driving to the conditions and to take extra care.

Areas including Sawbridgeworth and Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, are currently under the yellow warning with places like Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City on the border.
Snow has already fallen in the surrounding counties of Essex and Cambridgeshire.
