Travel news: Brits can go on vacation again according to new tier rules

[ad_1]

IIt’s official: lockdown 2.0 is over and the British can go on vacation again.

The controversial new tier system of government goes live today, and while that means the vast majority of regions in England are now subject to Tier 2 or Tier 3 regulations, many of us can travel again; both domestically and abroad.

Hotels and self-catering accommodation in England can be reopened for leisure purposes on levels 1 and 2, provided you follow regional regulations and reopen the door to holidays. You can now also leave the country and there are several destinations that have travel corridors, which means you will not have to self-quarantine on your return.

Those on Level 3 are sadly discouraged from all “non-essential travel”. However, there are three English regions in the lowest Tier 1 category: Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight.

In other news today, the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine has now been approved for use in the UK, Health Secretary Matt Hancock confirmed, paving the way for mass vaccination to begin next week.
