A section of East Lancashire Road was closed after a bicyclist was struck by a car at a busy intersection.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of East Lancashire Road and Moorgate Road in Kirkby around 8:10 pm tonight (Sunday) after a car accident.
The East Lancashire Road and Moorgate Road sections were closed at the scene, police said.
Police said the accident involved a car and a bicycle. A man on a bicycle was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The road has been reopened and the scene cleared, police said.
A witness who asked not to be identified said a black Ford Fiesta was stranded in the middle of the intersection. He said he saw three police cars at the scene.

The Merseyside Police Highway Patrol Unit said: “Syndicate 1 patrols are dealing with an RTC on East Lancs Road at the junction with Moorgate Road. There is no access to Moorgate Road from Westbound East Lancs and East Lancs closed between Coopers Lane and Moorgate westbound. “
