Brexit News: Britain to Announce a No Deal Brexit NEXT WEEK unless the EU grants it | Politics | News

The government reportedly warned that “no deal is priced below the stock market” and that there is still a “significant gap” in fisheries. ” According to The Telegraph, this assessment was issued “at the beginning of what could be the last week of trade negotiations” between the UK and the EU.

The comments suggest the UK is hardening its stance on the months-long talks.

Chief EU negotiator Michel Barnier arrived in London on Friday in preparation to reignite the Brexit talks.

After spending a week in isolation after a member of the bloc team tested positive for coronavirus, Barnier resumed face-to-face negotiations with the UK on Saturday morning.

Before his arrival, Barnier wrote on Twitter that “the same significant divergences persist” in the Brexit negotiations.

The UK and France signed a new bilateral agreement on Saturday that prevents migrant crossings from the Canal.

The new agreement means that France has to double police patrols on beaches, but may continue to resist recovering arrivals.

While the deal signaled a hopeful sign between the UK and the EU, the latest warning from Issue 10 casts doubt on the talks.

The details of the trade deal must be approved by law by both parties before the transition period ends in early January.

They added: “These figures are laughable, and the EU knows very well that we would never accept it.

“It appears that the Commission has failed to internalize the scale of change needed as we become an independent nation.”

Negotiations between Barnier and his British counterpart David Frost will continue on Sunday and next week.

On Friday, Lord Frost wrote on Twitter that “it is late” to negotiate a deal.

But he added: “An agreement is still possible and I will continue to speak until it is clear that it is not.

But for a deal to be possible, it must fully respect the sovereignty of the UK.

“That is not just a word, it has practical consequences. That includes: controlling our borders; decide on a robust and principled subsidy control system; and control our fishing waters. “

Sources told The Telegraph: “The UK team will settle for nothing less than a great deal for UK fishing communities guaranteeing for the first time in almost 50 years that we have control over our waters.”

They added: “If the EU does not move, we are prepared to leave the transition period on Australia’s terms.”
