A major search operation is underway with forensic investigators and police officers who appear to be excavating a large area of forest.
Merseyside police officers dressed in white suits have been combing a significant area on the Merseyside and Lancashire border for at least seven days.
Excavation has been going on and the sound of machinery used to clear brush could be heard in the surroundings.

A blue tent could be seen in the middle of the undergrowth near Intake Lane, near Rainford and Bickerstaffe, with a line of black containers placed side by side.
The areas where a search has been completed have been marked in the woods, about five minutes from the West Lancashire village.
Police tape has been placed around the trees to seal off the large area and there is a portable toilet for the workers.
Today, Merseyside police were silent about the operation and declined to comment on the nature of the large search.
A spokesperson told ECHO: “Merseyside Police can confirm that specialist officers are conducting a search in a forest near Intake Lane in Bickerstaffe, Lancashire, as part of an ongoing investigation.”
The team is expected to remain in place for the rest of the week, and possibly longer.
