I’m a celebrity raging as camping buddies go through auditions before being filmed for TV

There is anger that this year I am a celebrity … get me out of here! Campmates are secretly told what to expect at a Bushtucker trial before filming it for television.

A former star of the ITV show has spoken out about the series, which is based on Gwyrch Castle in North Wales rather than the Australian jungle.

There have been claims that the current crop of celebrities have had it easy compared to those who participated in Down Under, with former jungle queens Vicky Pattison and Scarlett Moffatt pointing to hot showers as one of the main differences.

Now, Kim Woodburn has taken aim at the show’s bosses after they admitted that campmates are shown the “mechanics” of a test and ultimately what it takes to pass it.

This would include how to free the stars of their possessions and allay fears of what they will face, before the cameras roll and the test takes place.

A source told The Sun that the pre-trial briefing “removes some element of danger,” but has been done for health and safety reasons, in addition to ensuring that they maximize entertainment for viewers at home.

This did not sit well with former campmate Kim Woodburn, who said she was “shocked” by this and that the current series is a far cry from what she experienced in the jungle 11 years ago.

The 78-year-old TV personality told The Sun: “This is not the jungle, this is an absolute sham. It’s a trap. I’m really shocked. “

The source continued to drop the beans on what happened before filming begins, making a mockery of the thoughts that campmates throw into the testing space and are practically thrown into the background with it.

They said, “Actually, they are told what to do, and in many cases, they are shown how to do it and allowed to try to do it.”

The source added that this is done so that fellow campers “know exactly how to escape, or open a lock or release a bolt” before the producers begin the filming process.

It is thought that if celebrities get stuck in the “ins and outs” then it would be boring for television and it would be even worse if this was repeated test after test.

Jess says what he had to do on an assignment.

The source added: “They are told what the rules are, what to expect, and ultimately how to beat them.”

One of those moments was that fellow campers were shown how to unlock their chains in the nasty Bar-baric challenge, according to The Sun.

There were concerns that Paralympic athlete Hollie Barber might not be able to complete this task, but after a briefing, she agreed that she could give it a try.

It has been highlighted that the fact that campmates earn 73 of the 88 available stars in non-live events is confirmation that they know exactly what to expect and how to overcome it.

This has led to the camp having plenty of food compared to previous years in the jungle, where rumbling stomachs have caused friction in the camp and celebrities lose a lot of weight during their appearance on the show.

An ITV spokesperson said: “Contestants are given rehearsal instructions and producers make sure they understand what is required of them in accordance with our health and safety procedures.

“Any suggestion for review or practice is wrong.”
