She said: ‘He invited me to Windsor for the weekend while we were walking. I see a table outside and there are people sitting around it and I think it looks like the Queen and I remembered that my dad had told me that. If you ever meet the queen, she tells you to bow and call her ma’am.

Enjoying the revelations, Shane asked, “Did you know Diana well?”

Ruthie replied, ‘I saw her a couple of times and one of my favorite moments was when we were at Balmoral, there was Diana, the Queen, Margaret, the Queen Mother, Charles, Edward, myself.’

She added that Diana was’lovely ‘, yet he doesn’t’ remember much because Charles gave me my first martini. ‘

“I’ve never tried it before so it was pretty … I had two of them and I was like woah …” Ruthie said, prompting Shane to scoff, “Don’t tell me you go into show tunes.

‘Let me tell you. Margaret says “yeah yeah, sing us a song from that show you’re on” and I was on Les Mis at the time. So I sang I Dreamed A Dream and I must have changed my tune three times because I was so screwed up with martinis. ‘

Shane then asked: ‘There was a headline years ago, right? The prince and the showgirl. Where did you meet him?’

He was the one who called me and told me you were going to rehearse at 2 o’clock or whatever. And he said you’d like to come to mine and watch the A Star Is Born movie with me and have dinner. I was like what, in the Palace, is that where you live?

Shane said, ‘Is that what you meant? God, that’s so strange. See A Star Is Born With Prince Edward. ‘ He later joked: ‘Their first date was at Buckingham Palace. Can you believe it? Wow, my first date was Little Chef.

Shane continued. So when did you think we were gonna do jiggy boom boom? Soon we will do jiggy boom boom. I’m going to be the new queen of England. ‘

“No,” Ruthie protested.

Russell Watson added: ‘I took a coat hanger from Windsor Castle.’ A hanger. Well then. At least you would steal a crown.

Maybe not a crown. That’s illegal, ‘Jordan North commented.
