I’m a celebrity … Get me out of here! has welcomed Russell Watson and Ruthie Hemshall as two explosive new arrivals.
Opera singer Russell and actress Ruthie were widely rumored to be joining the show’s first Welsh series after they were spotted in a photoshoot with all the other campmates.
But fans were left wondering where they were and if they would arrive later in the series.
The pair were teased on Tuesday’s show, arriving at Gwrych Castle just three days after this series, which is shorter this year at three weeks in length.
Joined by TV host Vernon Kay, broadcaster and journalist Victoria Derbyshire, stage and screen star Shane Richie, Paralympic gold medalist Hollie Arnold MBE, Radio 1 DJ Jordan North, Corrie Beverley Callard icon, dancer lounge AJ Pritchard, author and broadcaster Giovanna Fletcher, Olympic legend Sir Mo Farah CBE, and soap opera star Jessica Plummer.
Ruthie said, “There is a great difference between the known and the unknown, and I am in the unknown.
“It really is a little scary.
“When you’re late, you suddenly feel much more visible, you have to bring something to the table.
“I think I’m a tough cookie, but I’m a little terrified.”
Russell added: “I’m probably best known for my renditions of Nessun Dorma, but you’re going to see a different side of Russell Watson.
“The stage is my life blood, it means everything.
“I don’t think it’s going to be any fun, I don’t even want to think about bugs right now.”
Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly revealed that the duo will be participating in a test called Stage Fright before meeting the rest of their fellow campers.
