A series of floral tributes and heartbreaking messages have been left to a woman found dead on a property in Prescot.
The woman, who was in her 50s, died inside the property in Tinling Close after sustaining serious injuries in the early hours of Monday.
A murder investigation is underway and Merseyside police officers remain on the scene today, where there is still a cordon.
Detectives said a 60-year-old Prescot man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
He was taken to a police station for questioning and remains in detention this afternoon of November 17.
Bouquets of flowers have been paid for to rest outside a property on the street, which has had its entrance covered with a green sheet.
One message named the woman “Paula” and described her as a “special person and a great friend.”
The message read, “I can’t believe I’m saying goodbye to such a special person and a great friend.
“Many people will miss you.
“Forever in our hearts and thoughts Paula.
“Thinking of your family in such a sad moment. All our love xxx”.
Tributes were also left on social media, and people expressed surprise at the news.
One woman said, “RIP Angel. God bless all the family and friends.”
Another wrote: “What a sad RIP.”
A third added: “Sad RIP.”

In a statement Monday, a police spokesman said: “Detectives arrested a man on suspicion of the domestic murder of a woman in Prescot in the early hours of yesterday morning, Monday, November 16.”
“At around 1:20 AM, Tinling Close emergency services were called to receive reports that a woman in her 50s had been found seriously injured.
“Unfortunately she was declared deceased around 1.40 am.
“The victim will be formally identified and an autopsy will be performed. His family is being supported by specialized officers.”
