A 16-year-old boy died after a car he was driving crashed into a wall during a police chase in Stockport.
The Toyota crashed into a wall on Hall Moss Lane in Bramhall just before 4 a.m. on Friday (November 13).
At the time, he was being followed by Cheshire Police officers.
The driver and the 16-year-old passenger were taken to hospital from the scene with serious injuries.
The Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC), which is investigating the incident, has now confirmed that the driver has died.
He died in the hospital on Saturday, a spokesman said.
An IOPC spokesperson said: “We have started an investigation after a 16-year-old boy was killed in a collision following a manhunt involving Cheshire Police on Friday 13th November.
“We understand that around 4 am a Toyota car lost control and hit a wall in Hall Moss Lane, Bramhall, Stockport. The driver died in hospital on Saturday and a passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“After the police notified us, we dispatched investigators to the crash scene and the police station incident procedure to begin gathering information.
“Our thoughts are with the boy’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
The boy’s family and friends have covered the scene of the clash with floral tributes and balloons.
At least 100 mourners blocked the road last night (Monday) while fireworks were launched at the scene.
A witness who passed the scene around 5.40pm said: “It was crazy. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
“I couldn’t get through, there were so many people blocking the road and there were streams of people walking towards it and around the edges.
“The cars were double-parked until the end of the road.”
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman confirmed that officers were called to the meeting at Hall Moss Lane just before 5 p.m. Monday.
Speaking yesterday, the spokesperson said: “We were called shortly before 5pm at Hall Moss Lane.
“About 100 people attended.
“Officers are still on site to determine what the meeting is for and assess whether there has been any possible breach of public order or COVID.”
In a statement issued Friday, a Cheshire police spokeswoman said: “At around 3.40 am on Friday, November 13, a white Toyota Yaris came to the attention of officers in the Handforth area.
“A short chase took place and the vehicle was subsequently involved in a collision with a wall on Hall Moss Lane in Bramhall, Stockport.
The two occupants of the vehicle, both men, suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital.
“In accordance with normal procedures, the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) has been notified of the incident and they have now begun an independent investigation.”
