A Liverpool couple have completely transformed their 1930s townhouse into an ‘amazing’ Instagram-worthy home.
After obtaining the keys to their new home in December 2019, they have managed to completely renovate the South Liverpool home to make it almost unrecognizable.
The couple, who wish to be known only as Lucy and Steve, began documenting their renewal on Instagram @ our_liverpool_home, as a way to judge how far they had come.
But they quickly began to build a fan base who wanted to see their dream come true.
Lucy told ECHO: “Actually, it was just for documentation, our families were getting bored that we were constantly sending WhatsApp messages with pictures.
“So we thought about creating one and keeping it private, but then it started to grow so we decided to get involved with it and start tagging and where we got things from.
“The community is so lovely, everyone is so positive and friendly and it’s a really nice place to put photos of what you’ve done.”

She added: “Anyone can do it, we are not getting gifts or announcements or anything like that, it’s just a rewarding thing because it’s such a lovely community and we love the feedback and feedback.
“It is a nice feeling, especially when people are not allowed in your house, we have friends and family who cannot come to visit us, but are still eager to see what the house looks like. So this is a great way. “
His Instagram followers are impressed by his renovations, including the complete renovation of his bathroom and laundry room.
Commenting on her bathroom, a follower @major_wrenovation said: “Wow, as if this was the best transformation, I love those tiles and small recessed tiles for the shower. I wish we could have done this. It’s just fabulous.”
Another @homewiththepeas added: “I love the little cubicle in the shower wall for an amazing transformation.”
Speaking about the utility room, a third user @at_home_with_the_hayes said “Oh it looks fabulous. I love the statement tiles and they are fabulous.”
In addition to renovating the existing rooms, the couple also changed the old kitchen entrance into an additional bathroom under the stairs.
The old living room, dining room and kitchen have also been modified to create an open plan layout.
Lucy said fans always seem to be impressed with the shed and ceiling of the “cozy” room.
She said: “P People are amazed at the painted ceiling in the cozy and love the shed that has been lined.
“But Steve made them himself. People say ‘this is amazing’ and ask ‘who did it for you?’ , that always has a good reaction. “
Lucy and Steve offer advice on their page and connect with other home renovators looking for advice.
Steve said that one of the most important tips he would give would be to get a builder you trust and always go over budget.
He said: “We bought this house because we decided that this is the location we wanted.
“You have to be in the right place and then you can do whatever you want with what you have.
“So we got the location we wanted first and then we made the house what we wanted it to be.
“I would also say be generous with the budget if you can, to let things go, because we had a great price from the builder, but then there is everything that goes on top.
“Even on paint and tile, it adds up really fast.

“The builder plasters the room but forget about the finishing touches”
While the Liverpool couple have already completed many things at home, they said it is still far from finished.
Steve said, “It’s certainly not finished, because we also have two young children, so it’s a very slow process.”
Lucy said: “All the decoration, we do it ourselves, so it takes a while. But our constructor does all the main things.
“We try to buy locally, it’s a bit more expensive when it’s local, but you’re investing in the area and then we advertise it on our account.”
He added: “It happened quite quickly, but there are so many rooms that have not been touched, we are selective with the camera angles.
“The front room is next and then the little one will be six months old on Christmas, so we have to take her to the guest room, so we have a room for little boys and girls and then we would love to start at the front, but that it’s for 2022. “
