Washington braced itself for trouble when Trump loyalists arrive to boost morale for its defiant president

Washington is poised for a big pro-Trump rally later today as the President continues to defy calls to grant 2020 elections.

Organizers optimistically call it the MAGA Million March (MAGA, of course, is the acronym for Trump’s catchphrase, ‘Make America Great Again’).

Needless to say, there won’t be a million people on the march today. But there may be a few thousand and that is enough to cause problems.

Yesterday, we saw several of these pro-Trump activists tear off BLM posters that are attached to the security fence surrounding the White House.

Many of the Trump supporters arriving in Washington have peaceful intentions and want to protest what they see as a stolen election. They have that First Amendment right, of course, even if their premise is misplaced. There is no evidence of massive fraud in this election.

But some are white supremacists and provocateurs looking to lure BLM activists and far-left forces into a fight. They feel the violence and chaos will allow Trump to regain political initiative after his loss to Joe Biden.

To add flavor, the president has suggested that he will step out of his lonely bunker and sulk for a week to greet his supporters.

Despite all the noise and distraction from this protest, there is nothing Trump can do to stop Joe Biden’s rise to the presidency on January 20.

The certification process is well advanced. US networks have now put Arizona and Georgia in Joe Biden’s column, giving him a clear majority of the electoral college votes. Trump’s legal challenges are going nowhere.

Despite that, Trump continues to promote crazy conspiracy theories. The latest outrage is that a company that produced the counting software, Dominion, was rigged by Democrats to give Biden the victory.

There is a sense of despair in the White House. The Trump family is said to be divided as to whether the president should keep fighting or admit defeat.

There are rumors that Trump is aiming to sign a $ 100 million book and television deal to cover post-presidency legal costs.

The most explosive political speculation is that Trump is already considering entering the 2024 presidential race.

So if you think his loss to Joe Biden last week has knocked Trump off the political map and allowed America to catch its breath, think again.

The Trump drama can take years to play out.
