Hundreds of people lined the streets on the day of a Liverpool fan’s funeral as they said goodbye emotionally.
Simon Dobbin died last month, five years after he suffered severe brain damage in a violent attack after a soccer game.
The Reds supporter received a head stamp during a 90-second round after he went to cheer on Cambridge United.
Since 2015, Simon, known as “Dobbo”, could not walk, speak or control his movements.
On October 21, his loving wife Nicole confirmed that he had died and pleaded with the police to reopen the case in his attack.
According to Cambridgshire Live, on Friday, people turned out to pay their respects and support his family on the day of his funeral.

Before the funeral, the people of his hometown of Mildenhall were invited to “give Simon the send-off he deserves.”
Attendees were asked to follow social distancing guidelines.
Following Simon’s private and family service, The Last Post was played to honor his military past.
Images from the funeral show how the funeral procession moved through the streets to allow the mourners to see them off.
Many applauded as the family passed while others carried flags to represent their favorite soccer teams.
Cambridge United SLO and Fan Chosen Director Dave Matthew-Jones, with the help of former Cambridge United chaplain Stuart Wood, wrote a moving tribute to Simon after the announcement of his death.
It says: “No one will be able to fully appreciate the love, support, care and assistance that his wife Nicole, daughter Emily, friends and family gave Simon over the past several years after the tragic incident in March 2015 that changed his life forever.
“It is to them that we send our sincerest thoughts, our deepest condolences and all our love at this time, and we share with them their loss.
“Simon was a season ticket holder for many years and followed the Club both at home and away. He really enjoyed his football, sharing his support between Cambridge United and Liverpool.
“He will be fondly remembered by the entire Cambridge United FC family. Rest in peace Dobbo.”

Speaking at the time of his death, Simon’s wife, Nicole, said Simon died “absolutely” from the injuries he sustained in the brutal attack five years ago.
He explained that Simon had felt bad several times from the attack to the point where he was admitted to the hospital, but that he always defended himself.
But she went on to say, “I think her heart gave up.”
The day before the couple had been laughing and joking.
