A desperate search is underway after a boy in pajamas was seen wandering the streets alone last night.

The boy, believed to be only eight years old, was seen by himself in New Waltham, North East Lincolnshire around midnight last night.

Officers have been conducting extensive investigations throughout the night, Grimsby Live reported.

The boy was wearing dark-colored pajamas and slippers.

He was seen standing on the road only on one home’s CCTV cameras.

One resident said: “It’s been going on all night, there has been a police helicopter and all kinds of things.

“I think it started around midnight, someone saw a child passing by his house and reported because he was worried.”

Another said, “You just worry that it’s so cold, poor thing.”

They also go door to door in hopes of locating the boy.

One resident said: “My neighbor knocked on the door around 3 am by the police.

“I just hope they’re okay with the weather the way it is.”

Detective Inspector Kerry Bull said:

“Our search is still ongoing for a boy who was reportedly wandering the Harvey Walk area of ​​New Waltham in the early hours of this morning.

“The local community will continue to see a large police presence in the area as we continue with our investigations and offer residents peace of mind.

“We continue to knock on the door, searching the New Waltham area and talking to those who are away from home. Local schools and partner agencies are also assisting with our inquiries.

Traffic has begun to form as officers search vehicles leaving the area.

“We appreciate how distressing reports of this nature can be and I just want to offer the assurance that, at this stage of our search, we do not believe the child has been harmed and we are only trying to locate him to make sure he is safe and sound. .

“We will continue to ask the public to contact us if they have any information that may help. We are particularly interested in any CCTV footage in the area from just before midnight this morning.
