A nurse has been accused of killing eight babies and attempting to kill ten more.
Lucy Letby, 30, was arrested again on Tuesday following an investigation into infant deaths and non-fatal collapses in an NHS neonatal unit.
The development came after a three-year investigation into infant deaths at Countess of Chester Hospital.
Letby has been charged with eight crimes of murder and 10 crimes of attempted murder between June 2015 and June 2016.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson confirmed that she is in custody and will appear in Warrington Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The spokesperson said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has authorized the Cheshire Police to charge a health professional with murder in connection with an ongoing investigation into a series of infant deaths at Countess of Chester Hospital.” .
“Lucy Letby, of Arran Avenue, Hereford, faces 8 counts of murder and 10 counts of attempted murder. The charges refer to the period June 2015 to June 2016.
“The 30-year-old was arrested again on Tuesday, November 10, and has since been charged.”
